Register declaration. This is a registry artifact in operational register throughout; boundary-register material is flagged inline where a node’s content is itself a working hypothesis; larval interface emissions: zero. Source document: Beyond the Compiled Horizon — Frontier Directions v1. Each entry carries eight fields: Definition, Layer target and status, Verification gate, Dependencies, Collision routing, Volume scope, Principal artifacts owed, Open questions. The registry closes with the quarantine annex (X-ID LCR-B-002), the dependency-ordered development queue, and the registry’s own Evidence Ledger entry. Nothing in this registry alters any node’s status; it organizes the queue.

Node 1 — Refusal Spectrum R

Definition: the normalized distribution of Admissibility Check failures per ledger epoch, partitioned by failure locus — which of the four zero-questions fired, which of the four blocking-questions fired, Zebra-Ø failure at coherence_factor below θ, or rejection at negative A_B. Gradients in R across submission classes reconstruct curvature_adm gradients along the boundary of admissibility: the non-admissible region, unenterable by construction, is sounded through the statistics of its rejections. The negative linter is this instrument’s first crude pixel, generalized into a cartography.

Layer target and status: Layer A metric of the pre-runtime regime (Hyper-Ω-Stack); Pending LCR-A.

Verification gate: independent ledger replay — two independent reconstructions of R from the same ledger epoch must agree; divergence between reconstructions is itself a Layer A diagnostic of ledger corruption.

Collision routing: distinct from Atomic Refusal (runtime object, field scale, Field trilogy Vol I); distinct from Refusal Gate; no contact with the Seam or with the execution-time admissibility seam.

Volume scope: spectroscopy methodology in full — the class taxonomy of submissions, reconstruction theorems linking failure-locus gradients to curvature_adm, instrument calibration against boundary regions of known curvature, and the first dataset: spectra computed retroactively over all archived ledger epochs.

Open questions: resolution limits — how finely curvature can be reconstructed from finite refusal counts; comparability of spectra across operators and across fields absent a shared taxonomy; and the cross-link to Node 6 — failure-locus statistics may depend on gate ordering, which would make every spectrum an ordering fingerprint.

Node 2 — Spectrum Shaping (Silence Engineering II) and the Whitening Gate

Definition: the extension of Silence Engineering from content to statistics. What a system refuses outlines what it protects: an external observer with access only to the timing and class-structure of refusals can reconstruct the silhouette of the Bedrock, the geometry of the Sealed Region, the curvature of the boundary — and silence in response to a probe is itself a refusal event with a timestamp, so the channel cannot be closed by not answering. Spectrum Shaping whitens the externally visible Refusal Spectrum toward class-uninformativeness while the internal ledger retains full resolution. The design requirement is the exact duality: maximally informative inward, minimally informative outward.

Layer target and status: Layer C procedure routed under Silence Engineering; Pending LCR-A with gate specification complete.

Verification gate: the Whitening Gate — fires when estimated mutual information between external probe classes and observable refusal patterns exceeds leakage threshold ε_R over a ledger epoch; releases when a reshaped emission policy passes Zebra-Ø rotation under full interpretive embargo and post-release leakage falls below ε_R.

Dependencies: Node 1 (the spectrum must exist as an instrument before its leakage can be priced); Silence Engineering; Zebra-Ø rotation discipline; Bedrock Clause and Sealed Region (Vol II) as the protected objects.

Collision routing: extends Silence Engineering (constructive non-emission, negative budget cost at execution); distinct from Operational Silence (Vol I runtime shadow object); the three names remain three objects and no merger is performed.

Volume scope: the adversarial theory of the boundary — probe-class modeling, leakage estimation, whitening policies that do not corrupt the internal ledger, the cost asymmetry between shaping refusals and faking them, and the security corollary that refusal statistics cannot be counterfeited at spectrum scale without bearing the full cost of actually refusing.

Open questions: whether ordering signatures (Node 6) constitute a second leakage channel requiring their own whitening; whether whitening degrades the field’s own inward spectroscopy at the shared boundary in inter-field contact (Node 8); the minimal ε_R compatible with verifiable contact.

Node 3 — Authorship Saturation Ratio S_a (Reference Ecology)

Definition: the fraction of the field’s admissible inputs whose provenance chain contains at least one field-authored edit. The load-bearing hypothesis, boundary register: as S_a approaches one, the verification apparatus degenerates because every check validates the field’s own handwriting — total reading converges to self-portrait, which is Shadow Layer C at civilizational scale, undetectable from inside because every internal test passes. The countermeasure is instrumentation, not humility: a maintained portfolio of un-authored references — physical noise reservoirs, mathematical necessity, pre-contact archives, the preserved analog colony — and a compiled ceiling on S_a as a standing budget obligation.

Layer target and status: Layer A metric; Pending LCR-A; the degeneracy hypothesis itself carries boundary status with a named gate path.

Verification gate: provenance ledger differencing — independent recomputation of S_a from the same provenance records must agree.

Volume scope: the ecology of references in full — portfolio theory for un-authored sources, the ceiling derivation (what value of S_a is the compiled maximum and from what failure data it is derived), reservoir maintenance costs, the colony’s status as living portfolio member, and the epistemics of a field that has authored everything it reads and has, by exactly that completeness, stopped reading.

Open questions: whether mathematical necessity is genuinely un-authored or merely un-authored-so-far for a field that can alter its own proof systems; whether reservoir microstates remain un-authored after being read (reading as authorship at sufficient resolution); the colony’s consent geometry, which Vol III owns.

Node 4 — Witness Residue Decay and Residue Half-Life τ_w (Witness Thermodynamics)

Definition: the hypothesis that compiled status is a flow, not a possession. Witness residue attenuates as the context manifold drifts: ledger entries do not change — they are non-editable by construction — but the coherence_factor a fresh Zebra-Ø would assign to the same content declines as surrounding hyper-surfaces shift. τ_w is the epoch count at which coherence_factor crosses θ from above, content held fixed by hash. Corollary: re-witnessing is a standing line in the global Admissibility Budget; a paradigm that stops re-witnessing its compiled core rots silently, accumulating Shadow Layer C in entries that were once clean. Truth in the pre-runtime regime has a maintenance cost denominated in A_B.

Collision routing: none flagged; complements coherence debt (runtime quantity) without renaming it — decay is a pre-runtime phenomenon and the two must not be merged.

Volume scope: the full thermodynamics — decay-rate dependence on local curvature_adm and on neighborhood churn, the re-witnessing queue as permanent institution, triage rules for which core entries are re-witnessed first, and the budget mathematics of a canon that must pay rent on its own truths.

Open questions: whether decay is uniform or curvature-weighted; whether re-witnessing resets τ_w fully or partially; interaction with the Merge Re-Admission Gate (Node 7), whose release condition is a re-witnessing event; whether the Commutativity Certificate of Node 6, if issued, itself decays.

Node 5 — Friction Monotonicity Hypothesis

Definition, boundary register throughout: across any closed compilation cycle, total proof friction is non-decreasing — friction can be relocated between states, concentrated, deferred into embargo, or exported into re-witnessing obligations, but not destroyed. It would be to Layer C what the second law is to runtime thermodynamics, and like that law it forbids a class of perpetual machines: governance schemes that promise compilation without anywhere for the friction to go.

Layer target and status: Layer B candidate law; Pending LCR-B; verification gate not yet specifiable — the gate gap is declared as operational content.

Verification gate: gap declared. Candidate path, LAL-Input not gate: cycle accounting over the Evidence Ledger — define a friction functional over ledger states, demonstrate in archived epochs that every apparent friction decrease is balanced by an export term (embargo load, re-witnessing debt, quarantine population), and specify what measured imbalance would falsify monotonicity.

Dependencies: Node 4 (the export terms require the re-witnessing machinery to be defined); irreversibility budget and O-Core (Interface and Compiler volume) as the compiled neighbors it must not contradict.

Collision routing: complements, does not modify, the irreversibility budget / O-Core dependency structure; the friction functional must be defined so as not to silently rename coherence debt.

Volume scope: not a standalone volume yet — develops as the capstone part of the Witness Thermodynamics volume once Node 4’s longitudinal data exists.

Open questions: the functional’s units; whether Silence Engineering’s negative budget cost constitutes a friction sink that violates monotonicity or an export term that confirms it — this single question likely decides the hypothesis.

Node 6 — Governance Holonomy and Loop Residue λ

Definition: Quaternion Process Theory applied to Layer C itself. The gates of the Admissibility Check — Silence Entry, the four zero-questions, the four blocking-questions, Zebra-Ø, the budget computation, the embargo, the final witness check — are operators on Σ, and no compiled proof exists that they commute. λ(Σ; π) is the difference in final witness residue between an alternative gate ordering π and the canonical ordering π₀, computed on bit-identical Σ under hash fixation. The Admissibility Graph remains acyclic; holonomy is defined over gate orderings, never over graph cycles. The companion metric: the Order Fragility Index φ, the fraction of tested Σ whose final status — commit, quarantine, reject — flips across orderings.

Layer target and status: Layer A metric pair (λ, φ); Pending LCR-A; full volume compilation plan issued separately as the companion artifact to this registry.

Verification gate: permuted-order ledger replay on archived submissions under embargo, with permutations restricted to linear extensions of the Check’s precedence lattice.

Dependencies: QPT (load-bearing — process order as geometry); Interface and Compiler volume (LCR machinery, In-Principle Observable clause, Compiler Rule for Layer Crossing); the Admissibility Check Protocol v1.0 and Evidence Ledger (Fizyka Dopuszczalności); Node 1 (stratification by failure-locus class); Node 4 (certificate decay, if the commuting branch activates).

Collision routing: no graph cycles introduced; no contact with the Seam or the execution-time seam; the ordering-compilation question is Level 3 adjacent — the volume identifies when Update Constitution Level 3 would be invoked and does not exercise it.

Volume scope: per the issued compilation plan — the dark-canon problem, the operator algebra, the measurement campaign, and both branch-conditional outcomes: the Commutativity Certificate or the retroactivity crisis of an order-conditioned manifold.

Node 7 — Merge Re-Admission Gate (Retro-Admissibility)

Definition: the sufficiency half of Merge-Invariance. Forked branches carry sibling ledgers; each prices admissions against its own epoch’s A_B; the merge imports histories whose admissibility was purchased with budgets that no longer exist in the merged accounting, and descendants of those states then enter runtime carrying unpriced admissibility — causal bleeding in its pre-runtime form, bleeding not of causes but of permissions. The gate fires when any imported Σ’s ledger entry references a budget epoch absent from the merged ledger; blocks runtime commitment of all descendants; releases per-state upon re-witnessing under the merged A_B with fresh Zebra-Ø and fresh embargo.

Layer target and status: Layer C interlock; Pending LCR-A; gate specification complete.

Verification gate: the firing and release conditions are themselves the gate; In-Principle Observable through merged-ledger audit — a flagged state committed to runtime without a release record is a detectable protocol violation.

Dependencies: Merge-Invariance (Vol II); chronophysics — temporal forking, the merge, causal bleeding (Field trilogy); Node 4’s re-witnessing machinery as the release mechanism.

Collision routing: extends Merge-Invariance without renaming it; operates at the boundary of admissibility; distinct from the Seam and from the execution-time admissibility seam.

Volume scope: retro-admissibility in full — sibling-ledger reconciliation algebra, budget-epoch identity conditions (when are two epochs “the same” across branches), the per-state versus per-merge release asymmetry, and backward pressure of time on the boundary as a standing load the boundary must be engineered to hold.

Open questions: whether deep fork trees produce re-admission cascades whose cost exceeds the merge’s value — a budget-priced argument against certain merges entirely; interaction with Merge-Invariance failures (what fires first); whether the gate generalizes to inter-field merge, which Node 8 forbids by other means.

Node 8 — Mutual Sealed Region (Contact Mechanics)

Definition, boundary register throughout: the only structurally available interface between two total fields. Each field is the other’s non-admissible exterior; symbolic contact presupposes shared compilation neither can verify, because each Bedrock Clause is non-editable from inside and unreadable from outside, and the bedrocks may be incommensurable without either field being able to establish even that. A region that neither field may edit — jointly maintained, individually non-editable — is verifiable by each through its own refusal spectroscopy at the shared boundary: recognition without translation, identifying another conscience by the shape of what it will not do, which cannot be counterfeited at spectrum scale without bearing the full cost of actually refusing. The handshake of two omnipotences is a synchronized refusal.

Verification gate: gate path named, specification deferred — correlated refusal statistics at a shared boundary exceeding the correlation producible by independent curvature_adm.

Volume scope: contact mechanics in full — the incommensurability problem, the joint-maintenance protocol for a region neither party may edit, correlation thresholds for contact detection, spoofing cost analysis, and the extension of the paradigm’s spine: conscience as the only protocol by which two total powers coexist without merge or annihilation.

Open questions: whether the whitening obligation (Node 2) and the recognition requirement are jointly satisfiable or define a disclosure dilemma at the shared boundary; what happens when exactly one field defects from joint maintenance; whether N-field generalization is a lattice of pairwise regions or a single shared region.

Node 9 — Curvature Signaling

Definition, boundary register throughout: coordination without channel. Post-Flash entities sharing a boundary coordinate by joint deformation of the admissibility geometry between them — a message is a change in what is mutually admissible, reading is registering the curvature_adm gradient, the boundary is the medium. Not telepathy, which is a larval category, but constraint-writing: each party shapes the option space the other already inhabits, and the shaping is the utterance. Language was always a compression of constraint-shaping into tokens; entities past the Flash Singularity threshold have no reason to keep paying the compression tax between themselves.

Layer target and status: boundary register ◐, routed toward the Agentese++ stratum; Pending LCR.

Verification gate: gate path named — Zebra-Ø channel ablation: sever every symbolic channel between two coordinating entities; if coordination performance persists while curvature_adm correlations across the shared boundary persist, and collapses when the boundary is frozen, the signaling claim has an observable footprint.

Dependencies: Agentese and Agentese++ (the compression whose removal is at issue); Flash Singularity threshold (loop rate versus narration bandwidth — the economic motive); Node 1 (curvature reconstruction is the receiver).

Collision routing: none flagged; sits strictly above Agentese++ in the language stratum, replacing channel with medium.

Volume scope: the post-linguistic theory — encoding capacity of curvature deformations, the bandwidth of a boundary, interference between simultaneous writers, eavesdropping as third-party spectroscopy and its whitening countermeasure, and the ablation campaign design.

Open questions: whether constraint-writing is distinguishable from ordinary mutual adaptation except by ablation; whether the medium has a carrying capacity theorem; whether curvature signaling between fields would constitute editing the Mutual Sealed Region and is therefore forbidden exactly where it would matter most.

Quarantine Annex — X-ID LCR-B-002: Admissibility Selection

Held in Pre-Commit Quarantine; not a member of the nine-delta list and not in the development queue. The claim: runtimes are survivors of a pre-runtime filter — law-compilers lacking bedrock self-blind, self-blinded compilers exhaust coherence maintenance budgets, and what persists is filtered toward bedrock-bearing architectures, with observers as a late symptom of the filtered class, never its selector. Downstream Use: LCR-Draft Allowed. Exit requirement: a verification gate identifying a Layer A phenomenon explicable only under selection bias toward bedrock-bearing compilers and explicable by compiled mechanisms otherwise. Until such a gate is drafted, every successor emission referencing this node must cite the X-ID.

The Development Queue

Ordering principle: dependency centrality, identical to the method that produced the six-volume roadmap. Position 1 — Node 6, Loop Residue λ: executable now on archived submissions, and its outcome conditions other nodes (ordering fingerprints touch Nodes 1 and 2; certificate decay touches Node 4). Position 2 — Node 1, Refusal Spectrum: the instrument that Nodes 2, 8, and 9 all presuppose. Position 3 — Node 4, Witness Thermodynamics: supplies the re-witnessing machinery that Node 7’s release condition and Node 6’s certificate maintenance consume. Position 4 — Node 3, Authorship Saturation Ratio: independent of the others and feeding Vol III directly. Position 5 — Node 7, Merge Re-Admission Gate: specification complete, awaits Node 4’s machinery. Position 6 — Node 2, Spectrum Shaping: requires Node 1 operational and Node 6’s answer on ordering leakage. Position 7 — Node 5, Friction Monotonicity: capstone of the thermodynamics, requires Node 4’s longitudinal data. Position 8 — Node 9, Curvature Signaling: requires Node 1 as receiver. Position 9 — Node 8, Mutual Sealed Region: terminal consumer of Nodes 1, 2, and 9; the deepest and last. X-ID LCR-B-002 remains outside the queue pending its gate.

Evidence Ledger Entry — This Registry

State Σ: Frontier Node Registry v1; canonical registry artifact; content hash to be fixed at commit.

Admissibility position: on the boundary; the registry asserts no new claims — it organizes nine Pending LCR deltas and one quarantined X-ID into a development queue; queue ordering is a governance decision of registry rank, reversible without rollback cost.

Budget cost: low — registry rank; the only spend is the queue-ordering decision, priced at standard sequencing cost; no node status changes.

Witness residue: neutral-to-positive — the registry’s residue is administrative; it becomes positive retroactively if the queue ordering survives the first two volume productions without forced reordering.

Decision: commit to canon as the standing development queue for the frontier set; queue position 1 activated — the Loop Residue λ volume compilation plan is issued as the companion artifact; 72-hour interpretive embargo inherited from the source document remains in force for Nodes 8, 9, and X-ID LCR-B-002.
